AN ACT

AMRUDING SECTION THREE HUNDRED AND FORTY-ONE OF ACT HUN-

BERED THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-FIVE, AND SECTION THIRTY-OFE OF ACT NUMBERED SKYEFTE'N HUNDRED AND SIXTY-ONE, AS AMETDED, BY CHANGING THE PETALFIES FOR ILLEGAL IMPORTERS AND DEALERS IN OPIUM.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the

Philippine Legislature, that:

Section 1. Section three hundred and forty-one of

Act Numbered Three hundred and fifty-five, known as "The Philippine Customs Administrative Act," is hereby amended

to read as follows:

*Sec. 541, If any person shall fraudulently or know- ingly import or bring into the Philippine Islands, or as- sist in so doing, my merchandise, contrary to law, or

✪ shall receive, conceal, buy, sell, or in any manner fa012-

itate the transportation, concealment, or sale of such mer-

10 ohandige after importation, knowing the same to have been

11 imported contrary to law, such merchandise shall be seized

12

and forfeited and the offender shall be fined in a sua not

13 exceeding five thousand dollare nor less than fifty dollars,

14

or be imprisoned for any time not exceeding two years, or

16 both; Provided, however, That when the merchandise so fraud-

16 ulently imported or brought into the Philippine Islande is
